What we store, and why

This page explains what happens to information you type into the contact form on The GeneSys Project, and how to ask for it to be removed. It applies only to that form — the rest of the site is static text with no tracking of its own.

What is stored

If you submit the contact form, we store the fields you filled in: your email address (required), and, if you chose to provide them, your name, a message, which topics you checked (updates, or areas you can help with — bioinformatics, Torah research, wet-lab work, promotion, translation, or funding), and whether you asked to be contacted back. We also record the time of submission, your browser’s user-agent string, and the page’s language setting, so we can tell real submissions apart from automated abuse.

If you check “updates,” your email is also stored separately as a signup record, so we can send you updates about the project.

What it is used for

Your email is used only to reply to you directly, one to one, or — if you checked “updates” — to send you updates about the project. It is never bulk-mailed to a list you did not ask to be on, never sold, and never shared with anyone outside the small group running this project.

No tracking beyond hosting logs

This site runs no analytics, no ad pixels, and no third-party trackers. The only incidental logging is whatever Cloudflare Pages, our hosting provider, records for any site it serves (standard web-server access logs). We do not add anything on top of that.

Who processes this data

Form submissions are written directly from your browser to Firestore, a database service operated by Google (Firebase). Google acts as our data processor for this storage only — it does not use the contents of your message for its own purposes. We do not run our own servers for this data; Firestore is where it lives.

Asking for deletion

To have your information deleted, write to us using the contact form itself (tick “It’s all right to contact me about this” and say you’d like your prior submission removed), or reach out through any other channel you already have for this project. We will delete the corresponding record.

This project makes no claim about the safety or efficacy of any vaccine, offers no medical advice, and does not ask for payment. This page describes only how contact-form data is handled.
